Kamina dances while Hannah reads
Hannah reads while Kamina dances

Hannah and Kamina wrote to each other about age for a year, when Hannah was turning 35, and Kamina recently 60. During this time they meet in the studio to explore dancing to their evolving text (A series of letters, or shared diary). Working with the themes of the text, they created a shared improvised movement practice to accompany its spoken delivery.

“When I write about age I sense I am in the language of magic; tricks, surprises, amazed, loop-de-loops, how and where you look, or place attention/value, what you are choosing to see.” Hannah

“Speaking to you the other day about the link between age and invisibility, particularly as a woman, made me wonder when I realised that I’d become invisible. I think it might have been somewhere in my forties…” Kamina

Made in collaboration with artist Kamina Walton, this process was shared as a work in progress performance at Arnolfini Arts, Bristol, in Feb 2026, and documented by Khourie Allen
